Whether your need is architectural, industrial, or something unconventional, we can manufacture almost any combination of crimp style and material that can be woven ranging from a 4” opening down to a 3×3 mesh in either space or center preference.
Our most frequent wire diameters used in our weaving process typically range from .063” all the way through to a hefty .250”. Additionally, our woven wire mesh can be made in all widths up to 72″ and lengths exceeding 100 feet!
With our onsite capabilities, Universal Wire Cloth can design and fabricate the tooling necessary to produce a customer’s specific requirement with extreme accuracy saving you valuable time and cost. Not only can we make custom tooling, but we also have an extensive catalog of existing equipment that can be used to create a variety of custom wire mesh specs.

In addition to the wide selection of metals, including Stainless Steel, High Carbon & Plain Steel, Galvanized Steel, Aluminum, Brass, Bronze and Copper we can assemble practically any kind of weaving pattern including:
Plain Weave construction has interlacing wires at every intersection. This standard weave style is mostly common in Wire Cloth where moderate or small openings are needed for general screening applications.
Intercrimp Intermediate Crimp is a variation of plain weave where more defined crimps are placed on the material. Wires are placed on odd numbers crimps 3rd, 5th, 7th, etc to create a unique look. This attractive wire mesh is often used in architectural applications.
Lock Crimp creates a tight wire joining at each intersection that resists movement also know as “racking”. Each wire have pronounced crimps that “lock” into each other when woven together. This weave style has very accurate opening dimensions and is commonly used in fencing and security applications.
Lock Crimp x Plain Weave As the name suggests, this mesh style is constructed using these two weave styles which provides a slightly tighter joint at the intersection without the full on “locked” look. This design provides a much more accurate opening than plain weave alone when thicker wire diameters are required.
Flat Top weave is also constructed with combination of lock crimp and plain weave styles. However, this design has all the crimps on one side of the mesh giving the other side a smooth surface. This style of weave has less resistance to material flow as well as an aesthetic appeal.
Similar to our predetermined wire mesh products, preliminary samples can be made available before a final run to ensure approval. A virtual ‘e-sample’ can also be sent to you directly via email for a quick evaluation that saves time and guarantees satisfaction.
