Hardware Cloth & Galvanized Welded Steel

Hardware Cloth is a flexible metal material consisting of welded wires in a simple rectangular grid pattern. It has a zinc coating to prevent corrosion which makes it especially great for exterior applications. It is available in many openings and wire diameters as well as woven varieties which can be found just under this section.

Yes, most hardware cloth specs can be cut with wire cutters or metal snips. Those with a thicker wire diameter may require some heavier cutting tools, but no special equipment is needed to cut this mateial yourself.

Universal Wire Cloth offers a vareity of hardware cloth specifications that include some heavy duty options like the 1×1 wire mesh .080″ diameter wire that should deter larger pests like racoons.

Eventually over time all metal will rust especailly when in salty enviorments, but the zinc galvanized coating used over this material will greatly prolong this process.
